Six months ago, I started freelancing as a mural artist in San Diego, and it’s been a game-changer—not just for my art, but for my skills as a marketer. Building my high-ticket services business from the ground up has taught me more about marketing than any job I've had.

🎥 Content Creation: I’ve created engaging TikTok time-lapses to showcase my mural process. Then I post them in local Facebook groups, next-door, and Instagram with location tags to attract local viewers.
đź“ž Cold Calling: I proactively reached out to manyyy local businesses. Though most calls didn't land gigs, many pointed me toward other potential clients. In the very least, this helped get my name out there.
🌟 Customer Referrals: After every project, I request a final statement as a referral that then goes on my website, & I’ve encouraged happy clients to refer me to others.
đź“‹ DIY CRM: I designed and maintained my own CRM to track leads, follow-ups, and client details.
🖨️ Creative Print Marketing: I designed and printed bright red business cards with this alarming slogan, "THIS WALL IS BORING", with my info on the back. I then ran around the city looking for ideal blank walls and taped my card to them, resulting in a fair amount of website traffic!
